why we hate cops......and don't need them

So I was thinking on what I wanted my first post to be about, it didn't take me too long. I fucking hate cops!! Moreover, I hate what they represent; the only thing they "protect and serve" are the rich and powerful and their property. They don't give a shit about you or me (unless you have a lot of money, if so , can I borrow some?) . And if you happen to have a skin tone darker than a shade of pink you're really fucked! The cops are no better than the supposed criminals they are trying to protect us from. I think most folks have some stories about their encounters with the police , and I bet that most of those stories have various 4-letter words thrown about in their description of said encounters. Now I don't consider myself to be a very violent person but, I have never met a cop that I didn't want to punch square in the throat. This isn't necessarily new ground that I hope we are going to cover, I just think it would be interesting to gather various stories about people's brushes with those lovely protectors of state. So post/comment your best cop stories . From there I'd like to start talking about how we talk to the cops when we meet one of those little piggies on the street or when in their custody. Finally I'd like to talk about ways in which we can lessen (better yet eliminate) police involvement in our lives .

a sign on pratt street fell on my sunroof of my car once. so i called hartford police to report it, thinking that hartford city should pay for the damages of my car. at this time i worked at a bar, therefore, many pretty people. when the cop showed up, i had to wait way too long for his attention. wanna know why? because he was flirting with a girl at the bar. all a waste of my time, considering that the city never paid for the damages because there was so much runaround bullshit that i had to go through. nobody knew who really should pay for the damages. gee.. i dunno.. a sign that belonged to the city of hartford falls down onto my car and damages it. there was even a police report. hmmmm.... i dunno.. perhaps the city of hartford??? waste of time dealing with the local gov't and police.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Plato proposes this question in the Republic "Who will watch the watchers themselves" It's a question of accountability, the police in a well functioning society should be accountable to the people but they aren't accountable to anyone. They are the only class of people that can kill people, and carry weapons in plain view and use those weapons without impunity. They have more power than us and therefore more responsibility. So i propose that we as a people stand up to this flawed system by holding the police to a higher standard,by not let them getting away with killing kids like Jashon Bryant, but also making the punishment for their improprieties, so strict and severe that they will think twice when they feel like shooting a unarmed child in the back
